Steve Warburton is currently working and exhibiting in Melbourne, Australia. Since completing a Fine Arts degree at Monash University, Steve has exhibited widely, in group and solo exhibitions. His paintings and drawings are held in collections Australia-wide and internationally.

For me, painting is not just about the image. I need the challenge associated with the production of a painting. The paint quality, colour and texture are just as important. The smell, the touch and the movement of the paint around the canvas are an important part of the painting process. They are what connects me to a painting. I love those parts (both intentional and accidental) that just work.

I revel in pushing myself to produce the best imagery I can in relation to the subject matter, producing an image that is contained within a fine technical and expressive challenge. I need to know that the viewer will be challenged also.
